Join us on October 26th for the annual Chestnut Festival in the picturesque village of Kastania, located in the mountains of West Mani. From early morning until late at night, this vibrant celebration brings together tradition, delicious local flavors, and lively entertainment for all to enjoy. Start your day by savoring a cup of coffee in one of the two charming, traditional cafés located in the village square, accompanied by freshly roasted chestnuts. As the day progresses, you can indulge in a variety of mouthwatering, traditional dishes served by the local taverns, where the village’s culinary heritage comes to life. Throughout the day, the irresistible aroma of grilled chestnuts will fill the air, and you’ll be able to taste them at any time. As night falls, the festival truly comes alive with live traditional Greek music, performed by a talented 12-member orchestra. Dance, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and immerse yourself in the rich cultural traditions of the area. The festival takes place in the shadow of Dourakis Tower - a historic rock tower, built in 1873, adding a sense of timelessness to the event. You can also take the opportunity to visit this old tower and get a glimpse of what life was like 200 years ago in this beautifully preserved piece of history. The flights will be launched from the Ai Giorgis location, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
